Description

Step-by-step procedure for auditing, re-enabling, and synchronizing disabled or deleted Puzzle Piece (Orange Pages) with the master template structure.

Goal

Ensure the correct service page system is active and clean across all client accounts, maintaining a strict mapping to active PIDs and preserving custom client copy.

Definitions / Prerequisites

Workflow

Step 1: Identify Impacted Puzzle Piece Pages

  1. Audit the client's page list to locate any Puzzle Piece pages that have been deleted or disabled.
  2. Cross-reference the disabled pages with the client's signed-off services list in Content Audit Process.
  3. Determine the intended service topic for each affected page.

Step 2: Check for Legacy Service Page Conflict

  1. Check the active page hierarchy to see if the client is running a legacy service page for that topic.
  2. Search page titles and URL paths to identify duplicate service pages.

Step 3: Resolve Legacy Page Conflicts (Legacy Page Exists)

  1. Preserve Custom Content: Open the legacy page and copy any client-provided paragraphs, reviews, or custom guarantees.
  2. Apply to Puzzle Page: Paste the custom content into the corresponding sections of the Puzzle Piece page.
  3. Configure URL: Edit the Puzzle Piece page settings and assign the correct Friendly URL (refer to the Friendly URL Redirect Template).
  4. Menu Placement: Move the Puzzle Piece page into the exact menu location where the legacy page resided.
  5. Deactivate Legacy: Disable or delete the legacy page.
  6. Activate Puzzle Page: Enable the Puzzle Piece page and publish.

Step 4: Resolve Clean Setup (Legacy Page Does Not Exist)

  1. Case A: Client offers the service
    • Assign the correct Friendly URL to the Puzzle Piece page.
    • Place the Puzzle Piece page in the main navigation menu where appropriate.
    • Set the page status to Enabled and publish.
  2. Case B: Client does NOT offer the service
    • Disable the Puzzle Piece page (do not delete).
    • Create a page folder named Disabled Puzzle if it does not exist.
    • Move the disabled Puzzle Piece page into the Disabled Puzzle folder to clear the main page hierarchy while preserving the asset.

Step 5: Rollback to Base Revision (Drift Troubleshooting)

Use this step if a Puzzle Piece page has drifted from the template and failed to sync updates:

  1. Open the target Puzzle Piece page editor.
  2. Copy the active custom page HTML and save it in a local scratch document.
  3. Click on the Revision History option in the PagePilot menu.
  4. Locate the revision entry labeled Base.
  5. Select the Base revision.
  6. Click Make selected active.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Paste the custom client-specific copy back into the base structure where needed (ensuring base HTML framework remains unaltered).
