Slide Deck Landing Page Procedure

Description

Step-by-step procedure for creating and configuring presentation slide deck landing pages in the PagePilot CMS.

Goal

Deploy visually polished presentation slide deck landing pages with functioning download links, speaker details, and correct URLs.

Definitions / Prerequisites

• Slide Deck Folder: The central container in PagePilot Site Pages where slide deck page structures are saved.
• CID 1545: Online Access, Inc. corporate customer ID.

Workflow

Step 1: Access PagePilot Site Pages

1. Log in to the PagePilot Customer Support admin panel.
2. Search for company Online Access, Inc., using CID 1545.
3. Click Login as User to open the client account dashboard.
4. On the left-hand sidebar menu, click Website > Site Content Manager.
5. Click to expand the Site Pages hierarchy.
6. Locate the Slide Deck folder.

Step 2: Create and Stage the Landing Page

1. Click the actions gear icon next to the Slide Deck folder and select Create a New Page.
2. Set the Page Name to represent the specific presentation or topic.
3. Open an existing Slide Deck page in the same folder and click Edit HTML.
4. Select all HTML code, copy it, and paste it into the HTML editor of the new page.

Step 3: Configure Assets and Text

1. Open the PagePilot File Manager and upload the presentation files (PDFs, PPTX, images).
2. Edit the HTML on the new page to replace the source paths for the following elements:
   • Hero Image / First Slide: Update background or slide cover graphics.
   • Speaker Slide / Headshot: Update the speaker image path.
   • Download Links: Replace previous PDF links with the new presentation download paths.
   • Speaker Details: Edit speaker names, credentials, and titles if they differ.
3. Click Save Page.

Step 4: Apply Friendly URL

1. Click the bottom-left gear icon within the page settings menu to access URL paths.
2. Assign a primary-friendly URL structure (e.g. /slides-june-seo-summit).
3. Set the page status to Active/Published.
4. Navigate to the live URL to verify the landing page displays correctly.

QA / Troubleshooting

• Broken Graphics: If headshots do not render, check File Manager folder paths to ensure assets are public and absolute.
• Link Target: Confirm all download and speaker profile links open in a new tab (target="_blank").
